Worksheet

Calculate the cost per square and the number of squares of product required. Calculations are the same for all products.

Example #1: You would like to apply #1 18" R&Rs to the side of your house at 6" exposure and you have 2000 total square feet to cover.
A) COST PER SQUARE CARTON: Divide the standard 14" exposure by 6" (desired exposure) then multiply by the price per square carton.
(14/6) x price per square carton = cost per 100 sq. ft. of coverage
B) NUMBER OF SQUARE CARTONS REQUIRED: Divide the standard 14" exposure by 6" (desired exposure), divide result by 100, then multiply by 2,000 (your total sq. ft.)

((14/6)/100) x 2,000 = 47 square cartons required

Example #2: You would like to apply #1 24" shakes to your roof at 8" exposure and you have 2000 total square feet to cover.
A) COST PER SQUARE: Divide the standard 10" exposure by 8" (desired exposure) then multiply by the price per square.
(10/8) x price per square = cost per 100 sq. ft. of coverage
B) NUMBER OF SQUARES REQUIRED: Divide the standard 10" exposure by 8" (desired exposure), divide result by 100, then multiply by 2,000 (your total sq. ft.)

((10/8)/100) x 2,000 = 25 squares required
