Tapersawn Shakes
Tapersawn shakes are manufactured from old growth logs, sawn on both sides and have a relatively smooth face. #1 Tapersawn Shakes are recommended for roof application for a very smooth, consistent and uniform look. Tapersawn shakes may be used for sidewalls, however, we strongly recommend that shakes or shingles being used for sidewall application be kiln dried down to 12-13% moisture content. For additional exposure questions, see Summary of Sizes and Coverage Table.
